CXC’s mission is to provide an international showcase for the best of cartoon art in all its forms in the city of Columbus, and make it free to the public to attend and accessible to all. We also focus on helping the next generation of cartooning talent develop their careers so that they can invigorate the industry for years to come. We couldn’t do it without people like YOU who help make our four-day festival possible!
Here is some of what makes CXC special:
- Our Expo, featuring nearly 200 creators showing and selling their work.
- Professional development programming that helps nascent and experienced creators alike to improve their craft, protect their work, and expand the professionalism of the industry.
- The Transformative Work Award, Master Cartoonist Award and the Emerging Talent Award. The latter comes with a no-strings-attached $7,500 grant.
- Multiple tracks of programming, including but not limited to sessions for children, LGBTQIA+, political cartooning, diversity, and artist spotlights.
- Partner programming sponsored by the many Columbus arts institutions that are our partners.
These programs help CXC not only connect creators to fans, but strive to create new creators and new fans to sustainably grow the comics community.
